Crop Production Services (CPS) of Weyburn, SK, selected as a 2016 Province Winner for Saskatchewan, has received its award as one of a number of agribusiness companies worldwide to receive recognition for their efforts in promoting environmental stewardship.  

The Environmental Respect Awards, sponsored by DuPont Crop Protection and presented by CropLife® and AgriBusiness Global™ magazines, are the agricultural industry’s highest recognition for environmental stewardship. The awards are given to agricultural retailers worldwide, those who serve farmers and ranchers with the nutrients, crop protection, and agronomic information and services critical to effective crop production. Each year a panel of industry experts gathers to recognize achievement in environmental stewardship, professional excellence, and community involvement. 

Crop Production Services won the award for preserving and protecting the environment by operating its business in an environmentally sound manner to the benefit of their customers, employees, and community. Colin Klapak, Branch Manager, said the CPS Weyburn staff firmly believes in environmental stewardship. “There are many layers to this strategy,” he said. “but they are all part of our core foundation. Together with our customers we utilize this foundation to build trusting relationships. In the end, we provide value to our business transactions because we are viewed as protecting our most valuable resource, our youth – the next generation.”
